We are also raising concerns about the rapid development of AI data centres and encourage submissions to the current parliamentary inquiries. The City of Hobart has officially backed the Make Big Polluters Pay campaign, becoming the seventh council in the country to support a Climate Compensation Fund. As we await the state government's response to the Climate Change Act review, we urge you to contact your local MPs to demand the full implementation of all seven review recommendations. We also invite you to join our next online general meeting on 27 July, featuring guest speaker Coco Venaglia from Friends of the Earth and Yes 2 Renewables to talk about positive community organising.

We have officially launched the local 'Make Big Polluters Pay' campaign petitions for the Hobart and Launceston councils, while our members recently met with Rebecca White MP to address gas tax disparities. For our next online meeting on 29 June, Dr Sarah Russell from ReCFIT will join us to lead a discussion on the review of the Tasmanian Climate Change Act. We are also urging supporters to lodge submissions in support of the Tasmanian Aboriginal Heritage Bill before the 6 July deadline.

State Parliament has backed an amended Energy Security motion calling for a transition away from fossil fuels, and we are urging supporters to contact local MPs to ensure these and the Climate Change Act recommendations are fully implemented. We are also gathering at Parliament House on 26 May to demand the government scrap the controversial Development Assessment Panels (DAPs) Bill. Additionally, former Young Australian of the Year Adam Mostogl will join our next online general meeting on 25 May to discuss Unleash Lutriwita and sustainable development goals for island communities.

We have launched our first-ever anonymous supporter survey to gather feedback and help make our collective work more effective across lutruwita/Tasmania. At our next online meeting on April 27th, guest speaker Skye Cielita Flor from Deep Earth Dreaming will guide us through the concepts of experiential deep ecology. We are also calling on supporters to contact local MPs to oppose the Development Assessment Panels (DAPs) Bill and demand the full implementation of the Climate Change Act review recommendations.
