We are hosting our Annual General Meeting on Monday 26th August, followed immediately by our August general meeting to coordinate our upcoming activities. The following evening, we are partnering with The Wilderness Society for a workshop on building a stronger community voice for nature and climate. We also celebrate the grassroots efforts of Circular Economy Huon and share the Climate Council's campaign for better shared and active transport.

We are urging our community to have their say on Tasmania's Coastal Policy by using Environment Tas's letter tool and attending their upcoming public meetings. Our next online general meeting on Monday 29th July will allow us to coordinate these local actions and compile agenda items. We also celebrate Clarence Climate Action as our featured group for their outstanding work establishing the Eastside Repair Cafe and profiling local climate champions.

We joined forums with the Australian Council of Social Service to advocate for rooftop solar and energy efficiency upgrades in all low-income households. At our next online meeting on Monday 24th June, Jacqui Street from the Climate Council will share strategies for effective climate communication and media engagement. Additionally, we are sharing resources from our recent letter-writing workshop and encouraging support for regional group Climate Action Network North-West Tasmania.

Kai Harrison from the Australian Youth Climate Coalition and Tomorrow Movement is speaking at our next online meeting on Monday 27th May to share strategies for welcoming newcomers to climate action. We are also highlighting key upcoming events, including a book launch in Burnie on climate adaptation by Professor Clive Hamilton and a public talk on forest protection by Professor David Lindenmayer. Additionally, we welcome Queensland's rejection of Glencore's carbon capture proposal to safeguard the Great Artesian Basin.

Our next online general meeting will take place on Monday 29th April to discuss local action and compile agenda items submitted by our community. We are also joining the youth-led Rise Up Hobart rally on 4th May at Parliament Lawns to protest the federal government's continued support for new coal and gas projects. Additionally, we are highlighting critical updates including the state government's decision to discontinue the Tasmanian Climate Change ministry and Forestry Tasmania's policy shift protecting giant trees.
