#FixTheAct

The government's response to the Climate Change Act review is a missed opportunity. Tell your MP we need real adaptation plans and an independent climate body.

Make Polluters Pay

Big coal, gas and oil cexporters profit while communities pay the price. Support a national Climate Compensation Fund funded by a pollution levy.

Submission on the 2024 Draft Emissions Reduction and Resilience Plan for the Industrial Processes and Product Use Sector

Oct

2024

The Tasmanian Climate Collective's submission on the draft Industrial Processes and Product Use (IPPU) sector Emissions Reduction and Resilience Plan calls for a sector-wide emissions reduction target of 37-49% by 2030, with specific sub-targets including a 34% cut in aluminium production emissions at Bell Bay, a 70% cut in cement production emissions at Railton, and a 50% reduction in refrigerant emissions. It recommends decarbonisation planning for non-energy fossil fuel use, stronger federal Safeguard Mechanism enforcement including phasing out ACCUs and lowering the covered-facility threshold to 25,000 tCO2e, and zero public funding for industry emissions offsets.
