#FixTheAct

The government's response to the Climate Change Act review is a missed opportunity. Tell your MP we need real adaptation plans and an independent climate body.

Make Polluters Pay

Big coal, gas and oil cexporters profit while communities pay the price. Support a national Climate Compensation Fund funded by a pollution levy.

Submission on the Transport and Infrastructure Net Zero Consultation Roadmap

Jul

2024

The Tasmanian Climate Collective's submission on the federal Transport and Infrastructure Net Zero Consultation Roadmap calls for far more ambitious transport decarbonisation. It recommends a national target of 75% emissions reduction by 2030 and net zero by 2035, a 50% cut in transport emissions through Avoid and Shift strategies, mode-shift targets moving 30% of trips from private vehicles to shared and active transport, 30 km/h urban speed limits, a 2035 end date for new light ICE vehicle sales, one-third of passenger kilometres electrified by 2030, and support for vehicle-to-grid systems. It also raises concerns about proposed e-fuel facilities relying on native forest biomass in northern Tasmania.
