Towards a wellbeing economy – reimagining our economic future
TCC Guest Speaker Series with Lizzie Webb, CEO of The Next Economy

Housing we can’t afford, insecure work, growing inequality, and a climate that’s getting harder to live with. It’s easy to treat these as separate problems, but they share a root: the way our economy is designed.

The good news is that the economy is made by people, so it can be redesigned. In this talk, Lizzie Webb will explore what a wellbeing economy could look like, one that puts dignity, fairness, connection and care for nature ahead of growth for its own sake. She’ll also share what’s already happening around Australia, from regional communities planning their own transitions to enterprises and governments trying new approaches.
